MULTILINGUAL DESKTOP PUBLISHING (DTP)
Translation is only the first step in multilingual desktop publishing.
Localization also requires these steps:
- Adjust the page layout to ensure that the localized layout is identical to that of the source document, and to accommodate changes in the length of the text due to translation.
- Recreate the graphic elements in the target language.
- Insert new screen captures for the localized application.
- Generate an index and table of contents for the localized document.
- Proofread for accuracy.
- Generate deliverable files in PDF or other desired formats.
At NewCircle, we have full pre-press capabilities and work in both Macintosh and Windows environments. We can handle a wide array of file formats, including PageMaker, QuarkXPress, InDesign, FrameMaker, Illustrator, Photoshop and MS Office Applications. Output files are produced in corresponding formats, or press-ready PDF files.
Our Chinese National graphic artists will work with you closely to make sure your translated publication is presented in a good format and that no errors are introduced as a result of the DTP process.
